Haohan Chen received his PhD in Political Science and MS in Statistical Science from Duke University in December 2019. He studies political communication on social media in authoritarian and democratic regimes. He also develops computational tools to analyze text and network data in social media political discourse, with a focus on scalable and interpretable Bayesian dynamic modeling. Prior to CSMaP, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at UPenn’s Center for the Study of Contemporary China. This fall, he will be joining the University of Hong Kong as an Assistant Professor of Politics and Public Administration.
