Angie Waller

Angie Waller was a Research Project Manager at NYU’s Center for Social Media and Politics. She developed processes and roadmaps that supported the goals of CSMaP’s research portfolio and fostered collaboration among its interdisciplinary scholars and engineers. With her unique set of skills in UX design and computational linguistics, Angie brought a fresh perspective to the challenges of managing panels and creating tools for social media data collection.

Prior to joining CSMaP, Angie was Research Manager at The Markup, where she oversaw innovative data projects that collected crowdsourced evidence of Facebook’s privacy violations and other harm; one of these projects, Citizen Browser, recently received the Edward R. Murrow award for Excellence in Innovation. Previously, Angie was a developer at Data & Society Research Institute leading design and production of digital media projects and research archives. Angie holds an MA in Computational Linguistics from CUNY Graduate Center and an MFA in New Genres from the University of California Los Angeles.
