James Bisbee is an incoming Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University. He was previously a Postdoctoral Fellow at NYU’s Center for Social Media and Politics and a Postdoctoral Fellow at Princeton’s Niehaus Center for Globalization and Governance. In 2019, he received his PhD from NYU's Department of Politics.
Bisbee studies how economic dislocation influences politics using novel data and quantitative methods; he is also interested in understanding the anti-globalist backlash against open borders in advanced industrial democracies. In addition, he conducts research in quantitative methods, with a focus on the external validity of causally identified relationships.
