Andrew (Andy) M. Guess is an Assistant Professor of Politics and Public Affairs at Princeton University and a faculty research affiliate with NYU’s Center for Social Media and Politics. He is also the founding co-editor of the Journal of Quantitative Description: Digital Media, with Kevin Munger and Eszter Hargittai. In 2015, Guess began working with CSMaP after working as a postdoctoral student at the Social Media and Political Participation Lab.

Guess’s research sits at the intersection of political communication, public opinion, and political behavior. When conducting research, he uses a combination of experimental methods, large datasets, machine learning, and innovative measurement to study how people choose, process, spread, and respond to information about politics.
